Project
Descriptions
-
Undertook a financial feasibility study of
constructing a new community club and/or renovating the existing club
facilities at an Army base. The analysis entailed administering and
tabulating a survey and conducting focus group interviews, in an effort
to ascertain the tastes and preferences of the user population and their
general opinions and usage of the existing club facilities.
Furthermore, an operational analysis was conducted to determine areas of
the operation where improvement could lead to potential increases
in revenue. The project eventually led to a recommendation on what
facilities to renovate and estimated revenues, expenses, and return on
investment.
-
Undertook operational reviews of city and country
clubs to identify areas of improvement within the operations relative to
increasing controls, reducing operational expenses, and improving
overall operational efficiency. The assignments included an analysis of
staff productivity, purchasing, receiving, storing and issuing
procedures, operational organization, and accounting controls. The
overall scope of the projects were to identify areas where improvement
would have a positive effect on bottom line income.
-
Identified ways
to increase revenues; decrease expenses; and increase patronage to the
Officers’, Enlisted, and NCO clubs at an Army base. We undertook market
research through focus group surveys to ascertain the tastes and
preferences of the potential user population, and subsequently
reconciled it to the product being offered by clubs. Separately, we
conducted an operational review of the procedures and practices at each
club at the departmental level to identify ways in which the product
offering at each club could be enhanced or improved to increase
patronage, product quality, etc., without increasing expenses. Lastly,
we reviewed the financial and operating performance of the clubs,
inclusive of organizational structure, staffing levels, purchasing and
receiving, storing and issuing, billing and collection, membership dues
structure, facility usage, etc., in an effort to identify areas in need
of improvement that would lead to cost savings and greater
profitability. One of our recommendations included consolidating the
three clubs into one community club to improve the low patronage that
was occurring at all three facilities.
